Times have changed but we want to give kids and parents the confidence and reassurance that it’s safe for their kid to get to school. Safe Kids of Coconino County is hosting a Walk to School Day at four elementary schools in Flagstaff. Children across the globe will be walking to school in support of good health, safe communities and a clean environment. Do you want to help?

SafeKids is looking for volunteers at each of the schools to set up, chaperon the children from the drop off points to school and insure safety. Please contact the coordinator of the school you can volunteer at:

  • Marshall – coordinator: Jack Welch (Pedestrian Advisory Committee)
  • Thomas– coordinator: Tara Gene (Play Program, Health Department)
  • South Beaver– coordinator: Dave Needham (Flagstaff PD)
  • Kinsey – coordinator: Lizette Melis (Safe Kids)
