June 4th, National Trails Day, Munds Park Trails Join the entire Flagstaff and Munds Park area trails community in the annual celebration of trails! This year we will be working with the Coconino National Forest on building and maintaining trails in the Munds Park area. Several Trails in the Schultz Pass area will be closed during forest thinning operations throughout the spring and again this fall. The exact end date is unavailable, but the closure is in effect as of today, March 16th, 2016 and is expected to run through May. Fall dates are not available as of this time. We would like to thank the Mountain Bike Association of Arizona, (MBAA), and the American Conservation Experience, (ACE), for the funding and matched-work that is going into restoring the most damaged sections of Little Bear Trail. We have had a few questions recently regarding whether or not it is legal to ride an electric mountain bike on Forest Service trails. We didn’t know, so we asked the Flagstaff Ranger District. They provided these two documents. In summary, e-bikes are treated as motor vehicles and are subject to all of the same laws and regulations as motor vehicles on Federal lands.
