Take Action to Increase Opportunities for Bicycling in National Parks

At long last, the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) has proposed a rule change which will make it easier for parks to open trails for mountain biking. IMBA, (International Mountain Bicycling Association), urges mountain bikers to register comments in support of the rule change. IMBA has been asking for this change since the 1990s. News Flash! A bill to recognize the importance of bicycling in transportation and recreation is up for vote in the Senate. Contact Senator McCain on the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. Take Action Now! It’s super quick! The “National Bike Bill”, passed by the House in May, is scheduled to be considered by the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, this Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 10 am.

Giro de Luna 2008

We had a fantastic group and a beautiful night for this year’s Giro de Luna. Led by Jack Welch and Martin Ince, more than 25 riders of all ages rode the urban trail and through quiet neighborhoods by the light of the full moon and a handful of headlamps.
