Several Trails in the Schultz Pass area will be closed during forest thinning operations throughout the spring and again this fall. The exact end date is unavailable, but the closure is in effect as of today, March 16th, 2016 and is expected to run through May. Fall dates are not available as of this time.
The following trails are closed or partially closed:
- Secret Trail closed between Newham and Sunset Trail Head
- Weatherford Trail closed between Schultz Tank & near Wilderness boundary
- AZT Equestrian Bypass closed between Schultz Tank and AZT “Urban” split
This fuels reduction project will help to minimize risk of forest fires and help restore forest health.
