As many of you may have noticed, we have been plugging away at the Flagstaff Loop Trail construction in this area for the past couple of years, and our last event connected this awesome new trail to the Fisher Point Trail. YOU can help us keep building toward these segments’ eventual connection to the Campbell Mesa Trails (and beyond!) by coming out this Saturday and moving a little dirt!
We have arranged with Pine Canyon security to stage our volunteers in the Pine Canyon maintenance area known as the ‘old cart barn’ which is right beside the FUTS trail and about a 15-20min walk from the work site where the Loop Trail crosses the Arizona Trail. Parking will be on the pavement adjacent to the large tent and we must park in such a way as to insure access to that building. Pine Canyon security will direct our volunteers to the location and it will be signed the morning of the event.
All Trail events start at 8:30 am and conclude with lunch at 1:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Coffee will be served between 8:00 am and 8:30 am, and snacks, beverages, tasty lunch and FUN are all provided. Sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, sunscreen, water, and head protection are required. Hardhats, gloves, tools, and trail work instructions will be provided. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
