Saturday, July 25th
Arizona Trail with Northern Arizona Trail Runners and Arizona Trail Association
Join us July 25-26 just east of Kendrick Park off of US 180 and about 40 minutes northwest of Flagstaff for this 2-day trail work weekend. Come volunteer your time from 8am-3pm Saturday and Sunday to continue this 1 mile section of new trail with us. Saturday lunch will be provided. We will have a campsite designated for those that would like to camp Friday and Saturday nights with us. This is dispersed camping in some trees with porta-potties and of course the chance of afternoon monsoon thunderstorms. Generally, we will be 2 miles east of US 180 on Forest Road 514 (just before the white buffalo buildings) and directional signs will be posted. Final directions and details will be provided before the weekend, otherwise contact Aaron Seifert at mapitguy@npgcable.com
At the end of the day on Saturday, Arizona Trail sponsors have generously provided T-shirts that will be available for each volunteer with the “Close the Gap – Finish the Arizona Trail” slogan. After work on Saturday, everyone is invited to join us for a social gathering. Please bring a chair, a snack or a pot luck dish to share and your own favorite beverage. Please bring camp cup, plate, fork, spoon, etc. This pot luck snack and social time may suffice for dinner for some people.
Please register by e-mail to Gay and Gary Hohner at sghohner@cox.net or by phone to 480-595-9303. Please give us your name, mailing address, and telephone no. plus the nights you will be camping if applicable.
