10th Annual Flagstaff Bike to Work Week, May 15th-May 20th
We are hoping to make this the best Bike to Work Week ever. Click here to check out the schedule. Click here to register your Worksite in the Worksite Challenge now. This event is at its best when you help get your coworkers, fellow students and friends to try riding their bikes to work! Help us to help Flagstaff become an even more bicycle friendly town.
The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew is coming!
Join us on April 23rd for a day of training and trail work! These folks are some of the best informed people in the world on the subjects of sustainable trail design and construction. They also do a great job explaining all of the back-end planning and development that goes into getting trails from an idea in your head to dirt under your tires.
On that evening, we will be hosting a presentation and Q&A on freeride and downhill trails. The IMBA crew, members of Flagstaff Biking Organization/Flagstaff Gravity Riders and the Flagstaff District of the Coconino National Forest will be presenting and answering question about what is happening locally on this front, and ways we can move towards getting some legitimate opportunities for bike parks and gravity-fed trails in Flagstaff. 2011 Trail Work Schedule
Once again we will be building and maintaining trails with the Coconino National Forest, Coconino County and the City of Flagstaff. Click here for the 2011 Trail Work Schedule. We are hoping to make some good progress towards completing the Flagstaff Loop Trail and we will be beginning to do some restoration work on Little Elden Trail, (where it was damaged by the Schultz Fire and subsequent flooding), among various other projects. Come join us for a great time and help keep Flagstaff’s trail system world class!

Safe Kids Bike Rodeos and Helmet Program
We will be helping the Coconino County Health Department and Safe Kids Coconino County in fulfilling orders placed at local area schools for discounted helmets. We will also be presenting bicycle safety principles to hundreds of kids at five schools throughout Flagstaff. Kids who are encouraged to ride safely will hopefully grow up to be bike riders as well!
Flagstaff Gravity Riders is in Full Effect!
Flagstaff Biking is branching out into freeride/downhill advocacy a bit more than we have in the past. If you want to see more and better opportunities for gravity-fed mountain biking in flagstaff, click here! We have always been proponents of having legitimate and legal places to ride park and downhill style mountain bikes, and now we are having some success in convincing local land managers that they should help in addressing this demand. Keeping Flagstaff Safe for Bicycling!
This year is a big one for planning in the Flagstaff area! We are currently engaged in the Coconino National Forest Plan Revision Process ,the City of Flagstaff Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Master Plan Revision Process, and other local bike-related planning initiatives. It is our hope to help make sure that bicycling gets the recognition it needs in the greater Flagstaff area’s planning processes.
