Roadway Safety Action Plan
Coconino County is developing a Roadway Safety Action Plan (RSAP) through the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) federal grant program to help reduce and ultimately aim to eliminate serious injuries and fatalities on local roadways. This plan will use data-driven analysis to identify safety challenges and guide strategies that address the highest-risk areas for all users—whether walking, biking, driving, using transit, or operating commercial vehicles.
Too many lives are lost or changed forever due to preventable traffic crashes each year. Building on our commitment to a safer system, the Roadway Safety Action Plan will apply a data-driven, community-informed approach to identify high-risk areas and develop practical solutions, including infrastructure improvements, education campaigns, or enforcement opportunities. This collaborative, countywide effort aims to make every mode of travel safer for everyone, and we need your help to make it happen.
