The Board of Flagstaff Biking Organization regret that we will not be able to promote the 2020 Flagstaff Bike to Work and School Week this May.
In light of the uncertainties presented by the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are not comfortable proceeding with the event.
Most Bike to Work and School Week Events depend upon close contact with others: The Bike Bazaar and Swap, Ice Cream Social, Bike to Breakfast and more. Given the need for social distancing, and the reality that this need will most likely still be in effect in May, we cannot continue with the promotion of the event this year.
Even if there were to be some miracle cure and/or vaccine, we are aware of the toll that our partner businesses have paid even thus far and we would not be comfortable asking for the donations of money, time and materials necessary to promote the event.
If you are still needing to get to work, consider riding your bike as a means to maintain social distance, stay healthy and minimize your environmental impact to the planet. Cycling is one of the best ways to get a few moments to clear your head and find some sanity, away from the terrible news of the day.
In light of these uncertain times, we ask that you try to support all local businesses and, in particular, keep in mind the previous Bike to Work and School Week Sponsors listed below.
