Vision & Objectives
The Vision
The Flagstaff Loop Trail is a multiuse, non-motorized recreation trail that will encircle the city, connecting people, communities and public places. By proactively dedicating a predominantly rural trail corridor, generations of users will be assured easy access to our treasured natural landscapes.
The Team
Planning for this project began in 2003 led by the non-profit Flagstaff Biking.Org and fellow founding partners: Coconino National Forest, Coconino County, and the City of Flagstaff. This Team will continually seek additional partners to support and assist with fundraising, construction, and maintenance.

Project Goals
- Connect the network of trails in and around Flagstaff.
- Provide a safe and inviting transportation alternative.
- Offer multiple access routes to surrounding public lands.
- Provide a unique experience that will attract visitors to Flagstaff.
- Provide a recreational experience accessible from all areas of town.
- Offer a non-motorized outdoor recreation opportunity for all levels of ability.

- Disperses trail use around the City as opposed to concentrating use on a few overcrowded trail systems
- Implements the goals of the Flagstaff Area Open Spaces and Greenways Plan and the Regional Land Use and Transportation Plan.
