Because of excessive rain, this weekend’s event has been canceled for both days.
Join us July 31-August 1 for this 2-day trail work weekend to complete Segments 34A and 34B. Come volunteer your time from 8am-3pm Saturday and/or 8am – 12:30 Sunday. Saturday lunch will be provided. We will have a campsite designated for those that would like to camp Friday and Saturday nights with us.
At the end of the day on Saturday, Arizona Trail sponsors have generously provided T-shirts that will be available for each volunteer with the “Close the Gap – Finish the Arizona Trail” slogan. After work on Saturday, everyone is invited to join us for a social gathering.
Please bring long pants, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and water, and if you have them, work gloves and a bike helmet. Tools and trail crew instructions are provided, as well as some gloves and hard-hats. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You provide the enthusiasm!
From Hwy 180 and Snowbowl Rd. proceed up Snowbowl Rd. about .5 mile and turn right on FR-164B. There will be an “ATA event” sign at this intersection. Proceed east on FR-164B about 1.75 miles. Here you will find a two-track road to the left and another “ATA event” sign. The base camp is up this road about .2 mile. If you are not camping please leave your car along FR-164B and walk in to the base camp.
