Deer Hill Trail Maintenance

April 27th, 2009

Come join us this Saturday, May 2nd, at 8:30 am! We will be doing some much needed maintenance on Deer Hill Trail.

We are happy to note that the Coconino Horsemen’s Alliance will be joining us in this effort! Invite any of your equestrian friends to come out and help us on this trail that is popular with horseback riders as well.

All Trail events start at 8:30 am and conclude with lunch at 1:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Coffee will be served between 8:00 am and 8:30 am, and snacks, beverages, tasty lunch and FUN are all provided.

Sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, sunscreen, water, a hat or head protection are required. Hardhats, gloves, tools, and trail work instructions will be provided. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

We will be meeting on Elden Springs Road, off of Highway 89A north of town. About a half-mile past Silver Saddle Road, turn left onto Elden Spings road. Our meeting place is in the parking lot, (with all of the boulders surrounding it), about 2.5 miles in on Elden Springs Road. (The Google map linked below incorrectly refers to this road as Schultz Pass Road). Extremely low clearance vehicles are not recommended, but most 2 wheel drive vehicle should have no issues making it to the meeting place.

See here for a map to the event.
